The Antelopes are fifth in the country with a 1.91 aces per game average and have at least five aces in all but one match this season. Among the team’s top serving performances during its current eight-match winning streak included seven aces in a sweep against No. 13 Stanford earlier this month. Outside attacker Christian Janke is second in the nation with a 0.69 aces per game average and is among the national leaders with a 3.03 kills per game average. BYU All-American opposite Gabi Garcia Fernandez leads the nation averaging 0.89 aces per game and has more aces than service errors so far this season. Fernandez also is sixth in the country with a 4.09 kills per game average, including having 13 kills along with three aces in a sweep against No. 8/8 UCLA last week. The Cougars are one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the nation. However, BYU lost a road match to Grand Canyon last season — its first loss all-time in the series history. Grand Canyon in that late-season five-game victory limited Fernandez to 17 kills on a .182 attack percentage.
