Lincoln Memorial enters Division II Coaches Poll for first time in 2020

Lincoln Memorial is nationally ranked for the first time this season.

The Railsplitters moved to No. 7 in the new Off the Block Division II National Coaches Poll that was released on Tuesday.

The climb in the national comes after Lincoln Memorial beat Saint Francis in five games on Saturday for the program’s first win against a NCAA Division I program. It also earlier in the week played in front of a home crowd of more than 2,200 people in a three-game loss to Hawai’i

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 15 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Tuesday during the regular season.
