The Gauchos are second in the nation with a .371 attack percentage and have yet to lose a set this season. Setter Casey McGarry is fourth in the nation with a 10.94 assists per game average and has guided the UC Santa Barbara offense to more than a .350 attack percentage in five of the first six matches this season. BYU is third in the country hitting .360, including have more than a .300 attack percentage in back-to-back victories against No. 5/7 UC Irvine last week. Setter Wil Stanley also had double-digit digs in each those two victories and is among the MPSF leaders with a 1.96 digs per game average. The second-year starter also is second in the nation averaging 11.56 assists per game. Along with Stanley, opposite Gabi Garcia Fernandez and outside attacker Davide Gardini are among the nation’s offensive leaders. Fernandez has a nation-best 1.00 aces per game average and is fifth in the country with a 4.39 kills per game average. In addition, Gardini leads the MPSF and is third in the country averaging 4.50 kills per game. The outside attacker has at least 15 kills in four consecutive matches and is eighth in the nation with a .425 attack percentage. UC Santa Barbara on its home court swept BYU in a two-match non-conference series last year. The Gauchos also have three victories at Smith Fieldhouse in the last 10 years.
