In his second season at the helm of the five-time national champion Pepperdine, coach David Hunt took the Waves to the 2019 NCAA Tournament semifinals.

After the season concluded, he had to fill two coaching vacancies left by departed assistants. Brad Rostratter resigned during the season to start the Vanguard men’s volleyball program, while Kevin Endsley resigned after the season to accept a position outside of volleyball. It helps to always be able to count on your mentor, head coach emeritus Marv Dunphy, to help out, but Hunt looked to fill the void by tapping into the alumni network.

Hunt has brought in Matthew Pollock (class of 2012) and Paul Carroll (class of 2009) to help him coach the 2020 team. Both Pollock and Carroll have years of international play under their belts.

Listen to Pollock discuss about coming back home to coach and being able to coach with a former teammate.
