There is zero separation between Pepperdine and UC Santa Barbara in the national rankings.

The Waves and Gauchos each received 105 votes to finish tied for No. 3 in the latest Off the Block National Media Poll that was released Tuesday.

Pepperdine jumped from its No. 4 ranking after sweeping USC and Concordia-Irvine last week to clinch the MPSF regular season championship. Despite two road losses to No. 1 Hawai’i during the weekend, UC Santa Barbara became the first team all season to win a set against the top-ranked team and was able to maintain its spot at No. 3.

The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.

A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.
