The only undefeated team in the nation is once again atop of the RPI.

Hawai’i a week after dropping behind Long Beach State to No. 2 surpassed the 49ers to reclaim the No. 1 spot in the newest RPI rankings that the NCAA unveiled Monday.

The Rainbow Warriors extended their nation-best winning streak to 25 matches during the weekend as the team swept a two-match against UC Santa Barbara. In addition, Hawai’i will attempt to complete an undefeated regular season with a two-match road series versus Long Beach State this weekend.

The RPI is one of the criteria categories the selection committee uses to determine the NCAA Tournament field. A team’s RPI ranking is calculated using a mathematical formula that includes its winning percentage, strength of schedule and opponents’ strength of schedule.

Pepperdine, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA for the fourth straight week round-out the top five.

USC made one of the biggest jumps in the latest RPI. The Trojans jumped two spots to No. 6 following a five-game rivalry victory against the Bruins.

An updated RPI rankings will be released each Monday throughout the regular season and conference tournaments. The final RPI rankings before the seven-team NCAA Tournament will be unveiled on Selection Sunday, April 21.
