Video: Highlights of No. 6/6 UCLA reverse sweep of No. 4/4 Pepperdine

UCLA went down two games last night before pulling out a thrilling #CincoSets victory. The Bruins improve to 13-4 on the season, and are all alone in first place in the MPSF at 5-0.

UCLA hit .164 in the first two games, while hitting .531 in the final three games. Outside attacker Austin Matautia had four kills and four errors in the pattempts through the first two games, but he finished 18-1-25 (.680) in the final three games. His 22 kills and 11 digs were career bests.

Fellow outside attacker Sam Kobrine’s 12 kills were a career-best, while setter Micah Ma’a’s 60 assists were a season-high.

Defensively, the Bruins out-dug the Waves, 50 to 30 and were led by libero Cole Pender’s career-best 12 digs.

Pepperdine was led by opposite Michael Wexter’s 20 kills, who now has 63 kills in his last three matches.
