While No. 5 BYU opens its 2019 season with home matches versus No. 7 Ohio State and No. 14 Ball State – both on the theW.tv – the defending MPSF champions will have a bigger media platform later in the season.

BYUtv will be broadcasting eight of the Cougars’ 15 home matches this season.

The schedule will include all home contests against MPSF opponents. Five of the eight teams in the conference are ranked this week’s national coaches poll.

Calling the action will be Jarom Jordan, who is in his 11th season. Jordan’s analyst once again will be Steve Vail, while Lauren McClain will be the sideline reporter.

BYU won the 2018 MPSF regular season and tournament championship before losing to UCLA in the NCAA Tournament semifinals.

Several BYU players made various Off the Block preseason watch lists. Sophomore opposite Gabi Garcia Fernandez was named to the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Preseason First-Team All-American and the Bryan Ivie Award watch list; fellow sophomore Felipe de Brito Ferreira and junior Mikki Jauhiainen were both named to the Ryan Millar Award watch list.
