Lewis for third consecutive week tops D2 Coaches Poll

For the second consecutive week, the Lewis Flyers took all of the first-places votes in the Off the Block/Springbak Division II Coaches Poll.

The Flyers dispatched a pair of nationally ranked Division I teams last week – CSUN on Thursday and UC Santa Barbara on Saturday. Lewis now welcome USC to Romeoville, Illinois, on Friday.

UCSD split last week, as it lost to Grand Canyon on Friday and defeated NAIA member Ottawa (AZ) on Saturday. The team will return home to play host to Princeton on Wednesday and Stanford on Saturday.

Concordia-Irvine increased its lead over McKendree for the No. 3 ranking in the poll. The Eagles lost to UC Irvine on Wednesday, but defeated NAIA member Hope International on Monday.

McKendree was off last week, but returns to action on Saturday as it take on former MIVA for Grand Canyon.

Rounding out the top five is Lindenwood, which lost to NJIT on Thursday (the Highlanders’ first victory of the season), but bounced back to defeat Sacred Heart on Friday. Lindenwood host plays to Grand Canyon on Friday and Lincoln-Memorial on Saturday.

Others receiving votes were Barton, King, and Charleston.
