Video: Ball State players eager for start of 2018 season

Both All-MIVA outside attacker Matt Szews and Preseason All-American middle attacker Matt Walsh are well aware just how special this season could be for Ball State.

Ball State returns a majority of starters after almost upsetting the NCAA championship Ohio State a MIVA Tournament semifinal loss last season. While the Cardinals were picked to finish in third place in the conference’s preseason poll, both players said this team is capable of winning the MIVA title and making the NCAA Tournament.

Ball State will open its season with a home non-conference match against Lees-McRae on Jan. 5

Check out Off the Block editor Vinnie Lopes’ interview with Szews and Walsh following the Cardinals’ preseason practice on Thursday at Worthen Arena.
