Video: No. 13 CSUN hits more than .500 to blow past USC

Outside attacker Jakub Ciesla had a resounding response following No. 13 CSUN’s upset loss earlier in the week.

Ciesla had a team-high 15 kills and zero attack errors on .625 attack percentage as CSUN swept USC 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 on Saturday in Los Angeles.

The Matadors (5-1, 1-1 MPSF) committed a combined six attack errors throughout the match and hit a season-high .557 against the Trojans (2-3, 1-1 MPSF). Along with Cielsa, outside attacker Dimitar Kalchev added 10 kills while hitting .692 and contributed a match-high four aces.

Ciesla and Kalchev were two of the three Matadors with double-digit kills. This victory also comes days after CSUN suffered a five-game road loss to Cal Baptist in its MPSF opener.

Outside attacker Lucas Yoder in the loss finished with a match-high 19 kills on a .552 attack percentage.
