The Double W combination at the pins once again delivered for No. 9/10 Pepperdine in a comeback conference win.
Outside attackers David Wieczorek and Michael Wexter both had more than 15 kills while hitting above .400 as Pepperdine rallied to beat USC 20-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-16, 15-11 on Saturday in Malibu, California.
Wexter and Wieczorek were the only Waves with double-digit kills against the Trojans. Wexter finished with a match-high 19 kills on a .444 attack percentage, and Wieczorek had 17 kills on a match-best .536 attack percentage.
Wieczorek also contributed four of Pepperdine’s seven aces in the victory.
USC outside attacker Ginaluca Grasso playing in his second match with the Trojans had a team-high 18 kills and added eight digs. Grasso joined USC earlier this week as a mid-season junior college transfer from Orange Coast College.
The Trojans for the second consecutive match were with all-conference outside attacker Lucas Yoder who suffered a sprained ankle at practice this week.
