One match into his college career and UC Irvine middle attacker Scott Stadick has already earned his first national award.
Off the Block announced Monday that Stadick was selected as the season’s inaugural Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Freshman of the Week.
Stadick finished with a match-high eight blocks as No. 8 UC Irvine swept Concordia-Irvine in its season-opener on Thursday. The middle attacker in his college debut also had nine kills on a .444 attack percentage.
This is the second time in the four-year history of the national award that an Anteater has earned the weekly honor.
