Ohio State, UCSB, Stanford lead nation in All-American recruits

The nationally accolades continue to keep coming for the defending NCAA champions Ohio State.

The Buckeyes had a nation-best three incoming recruits earn a spot on the AVCA First-Team Boys’ High School Senior All-American list that was released earlier this week.

The annual All-American list voted upon by high school coaches from around the nation is comprised of 10 players on the first-team and 10 players on the second-team. In addition, only high school seniors whose high school head coaches are AVCA members are eligible for the All-American team.

UC Santa Barbara led all colleges with five recruits earning All-American honors, all of which made the second-team. Stanford also had four recruits selected to an All-American team.

Along with these schools, USC, Ohio State and Lewis had multiple recruits make an All-American team. Ball State, BYU, Loyola and Penn State each had one incoming freshman recruit receive All-American recognition.

The 20 players on the All-American list represent 16 high schools with Loyola High School and Huntington Beach High School having the most All-Americans.
