For the third time this year, Ohio State outside attacker Nicolas Szerszen has been chosen as the VolleyMetrics Player of the Week.

Szerszen had a career-high 26 kills in an upset against then-No.1/1Long Beach State on Saturday, helping Ohio State to its first win versus a top-ranked team since 1998. He also hit .528 against No. 13 UC Irvine the day before. The VolleyMetrics ratings ranked him higher than the league average in every statistical category, except for serving.

The AVCA also selected Szerszen as its Player of the Week. Szerszen’s weekly average in the chart below is included to compare this past week with his overall performance this season.

Szerszen hit .476 in the two matches and averaged 5.30 kills per game. He also recorded 11 digs and three aces, while contributing about a 28 points per match average.
