What to know: The background could hardly get any bigger for USC All-American setter Micah Christenson as the senior returns to his home-state for the final time in college career. No. 2 USC enters this two-match road series as one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the nation, while No. 6 Hawai’i is coming off of an upset victory against then-No. 4 UC Irvine last week. Christenson through the first month of the season has helped guide the Trojans offense to the third best attack percentage in the conference at .323. The 2014 Lloy Ball Award recipient and former Hawai’i high school player of the year also is among the MPSF leaders with both a 10.65 assists per game average and 14 aces. In addition, USC had a season-high .543 attack percentage in a sweep against Cal State Northridge on Friday and is off to its best start to a season since 1991. Hawai’i is 4-1 at home this season and has won five of its last seven conference home matches against USC dating back to 2007. The Rainbow Warriors also have two players in the conference’s top 10 for kills per game average. Outside attacker Sinisa Zarkovic is second in the MPSF averaging 3.79 kills per game, while opposite Brook Sedore is 10th with a 3.21 kills per game average.
